It sounds like you might like a non-gaming laptop as well, or at least a laptop that doesn't present that way. So ask him what he thinks of the HP, and let me know what his paramaters are. But there's not much point in your picking out the perfect laptop for you if he's not going to agree to it. I'd be surprised if he weren't comfortable with HP though-it's the second-leading seller of laptops, ahead of Dell (and behind Lenovo, by the way).
